NewsTech
Division
supported by:

The NewsTech Award will be presented to a startup building digital tools to address the critical tech needs of journalists and local news organizations.
Division winners will receive a grant of up to $50,000 and are eligible for an additional $25,000 Grand Prize Award.
In this division, our judges will look for startups that:
Address a clearly defined technological gap in local newsrooms, with a detailed development roadmap and evidence of technical expertise to execute the solution.
Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of local newsroom operations and workflows through direct research or experience.
Outline a clear path to financial sustainability beyond the grant.
Detail a concrete plan for piloting the tool with partner newsrooms, gathering feedback, and driving adoption.
Eligibility
